Obama becomes president and his old senate seat is vacant. Obama was a senator of Illinois and Rod blagojevich was the governor of illinois so he tried to sell the vacant seat. He was caought in the act trying to sell it. In this speech Rod blagojevich denies all accusations of him committing the crime.
"And its not about me as much as it is about not shaming my daughters," (Blagojevich 1). Blagojevich tries to distract people from the main issue by talking about his family. He talks about how his family is affected by the scandal which totally distracts people from the main issue which is Blagojevich attempting to sell the seante seat. Blagojevich also states, "It is painful to be in a position like this" (Blagojevich 1). In this statement Blagojevich tries to get sympathy from the people by acting like the victim. He victimizes himself and says it's hard on him and his family. He victimizes himself to get sympathy from the people.
No he does not have good ethos to me and is not trustworthy. Even though there is definite proof of him committing a crime, he still denies all accusations. Blagojevich clearly states, "But I didn't resign then and I'm not resigning now because I have done nothing wrong" (Blagojevich 1). He boldly lies even though there is definite proof of him committing a crime.
